Relume Foundation offer Free Medical Treatment to the Less Priviledged in Ishaga Orile
It is said that you do not wink in the dark because nobody will see you. When the same place is illuminated, darkness is chased away and whatever you do is seen and acknowledged by everybody aroung you. Therefore, to keep having light, the world must be illuminated and re-illuminated to ensure that there is no darkness anytime anywhere. Such was the passion of the Nigerian born American, Dr Sunday Adeosun and his amiable wife for the health concern of Nigerians back home that they established the foundation known as RELUME (Re-Illuminate) Foundation. The aim is to bring healthcare delivery services to the rural areas in his Ogun home state.
According to Dr Adeosun, RELUM is supported by a number of good spirited Nigerians and thus far the foundation have conducted free medical services in 2 rural communities of Ogun state. In 2014, the foundation was for two days in Ilewo-orile with a medical team. Relum Foundation, in 2015 took free medservices to Ishaga orile. And it was in partnership with the medical team of the Household of God Church where Pastor chris Okotie holds sway. When Pastor Okotie knew about our foundations, he promised to give us every assistance required, Most of our Doctors and other supporting medical staff are from the household of god church, they offered to work in these rural areas leaving the comfort of their homes, just to enable them give back to the society that made them.
The medical services on offer include General medical treatment, blood screenings, eye check, where we not only check the eyes but also give eye glasses to those who need them. For every diagnosis, we give medication. However surgery is a challenge in rural communities because of the endemic fear of the people for operations. We, will however continue to encourage the people to submit themselves for surgery because it is for their own good. Our dream at RELUME is to be able to establish a medical center in each rural community in Ogun state that will be able to compete with government hospitals where treatment and facilities are at the same level of service delivery. For now, we buy our drugs directly from recognizes pharmaceutical companies where we get them at company price compared to market prices.
GENESIS INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE was also on hand as media partners to offer support.
